Training & Professional Education

At EdenEmbraceKC, care is not improvised — it is studied, practiced, and continually refined.

The training I’ve pursued reflects a deep commitment to safety, consent, inclusion, and emotional awareness, especially for queer, neurodivergent, and trauma-impacted adults.

Below is an overview of the formal education and certifications that inform how I show up for clients.

🌿 Trauma-Informed Care

Understanding how trauma affects the nervous system, boundaries, and trust is foundational to my work.

  • Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care — completed through Alison
Focus areas include recognizing trauma responses, prioritizing emotional safety, minimizing re-traumatization, and creating supportive environments rooted in choice and empowerment.

🤍 Consent & Boundaries Education

Consent is an ongoing conversation — not a checkbox. My training emphasizes clarity, autonomy, and mutual respect.

  • Consent Education Modules — Planned Parenthood

  • Consent Foundations — Consent Academy

  • Consent Training in Healthcare — completed through Alison

These programs strengthen my ability to communicate boundaries clearly, check in frequently, and honor consent dynamically throughout each session.

🧠 Neurodiversity-Affirming Care

I believe care should adapt to people — not the other way around.

  • Neurodiversity Resource Training — Autistic Self Advocacy Network

  • Understanding Disability, Accessibility, and Inclusive Practices — completed through Alison

This education informs my approach to sensory needs, communication styles, pacing, and accessibility, supporting clients across a wide range of neurotypes.

🚑 CPR & First Aid Certification

Preparedness is part of safety.

  • CPR & First Aid (All Ages) — Certified through ProTrainings

This certification ensures I am trained to respond appropriately to medical emergencies should they arise.

🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQIA+ Cultural Competency

Affirming care means ongoing learning, especially at the intersections of identity, race, and healthcare.

  • Healthcare Experiences of Transgender and Gender Non-Binary People of Color (Panel) — National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center

This training deepened my understanding of systemic barriers, cultural humility, and the importance of affirmation in care spaces.

✨ How This Shapes Your Experience

All of this training comes together in sessions that are:

  • Consent-forward and communicative

  • Trauma-aware and emotionally grounded

  • Neurodivergent-affirming and flexible

  • Queer-inclusive and culturally respectful

  • Focused on safety, dignity, and choice

EdenEmbraceKC is built on the belief that gentle care is skilled care — and that learning is part of holding space responsibly.
